How the lamas' oppression prevented Frank Ludlow from teaching 25 Tibetan boys English and math, keeping the nation of Tibet absolutely vulnerable to being overwhelmed by the Chinese

This is a fascinating story about how a British man went to Tibet between 1923 and 1926 and wanted to teach a couple of dozen Tibetan children English and math, so they could help their country, help prevent it from being taken over by the Chinese and help Tibet connect with the modern world.

His hope was that these children, having learned to speak and write in English, learned math, they could play an educated part in the Tibetan government.

He was repeatedly utterly squashed in his attempts by Tibetan lamas over years.
